I love ice cream. Who doesn’t? I probably love it a little too much. It is the perfect treat for a hot summer day. I also love Independence Day; it is one of my favorite holidays. I have always been interested in American history and I value freedom. Washington crossed the Delaware river on Christmas Night 1776, so that he could surprise the Hessians (German guys fighting for Britain) on the day after Christmas when they would be hung over and nonethewiser:)
Almost two thirds of the 1,500 men in the Hessian’s garrison were captured. This may have been Washington’s first victory.

i saw this on the history channel last night:
The first submarine attack took place in New York Harbor in 1776!
The Connecticut inventor David Bushnell called his submarine the Turtle because it resembled two large tortoise shells of equal size joined together. The watertight hull was made of 6-inch-thick oak timbers coated with tar. On September 6, 1776, the Turtle targeted the HMS Eagle, flagship of the British fleet. The submarine was supposed to secure a cask of gunpowder to the hull of the Eagle and sneak away before it exploded. Unfortunately, the Turtle got entangled with the Eagle's rudder bar, lost ballast and surfaced before the gunpowder could be planted.

George Washington was our leader, he brought his dog to war as did the British commander. At one point the British Comander's dog ended up near Washington, fighting between the two countries was stopped long enough to return the dog. Oh, also the Colonist won.
